Curych je největší město Švýcarska a hlavní město stejnojmenného kantonu. Leží v předhůří Alp u severního konce Curyšského jezera, na obou březích řeky Limmat, která zde z jezera vytéká, a řeky Sihl, která se v centru města do Limmatu vlévá. Je obklopeno lesnatými kopci, nejvyšší z nich, Uetliberg, dosahuje výšky 869 m n. m. Město se dělí na 12 městských obvodů.
